Meet the team

Oak Mount Dental Surgery was established in 1955 by Mr Eric Blakeney. Dr Ranjit Lall joined the practice as an associate dentist in 1974 and went on to take over the business as principal dentist in 1998. Dr John Burgess joined the practice as an associate dentist in 2010.

Dr Ranjit Lall BDS graduated from Manchester University in 1973. After a year’s house job at Manchester Dental Hospital she joined Oak Mount in 1974. Since then, Dr Lall has been practicing quality dentistry, and with regular postgraduate courses she has developed a special interest in cosmetic dentistry including bleaching, veneers, crowns, bridgework and implants. Dr Lall is also interested in the treatment of nervous patients.

John Burgess
Having qualified from Sheffield University in 1999, John remained in Sheffield working at a large family dental practice for a few years, before moving over to Manchester. Since then, he has spent the majority of his career working in Wilmslow, treating both NHS and private patients as a general dental practitioner.

Outside of work, John is a keen golfer, currently a member of Withington Golf Club and hanging onto a single figure handicap. Also a fan of swimming, John joined Manchester Triathlon Club last year, and has entered (and finished) three triathlons, with more on the cards in the future. John was born in Hong Kong and enjoys visiting far flung destinations when he gets the chance, recently travelling to Peru, Jordan and Tanzania, where he successfully trekked up Mount Kilimanjaro.

John is a Didsbury resident and is very pleased about the prospect of working locally, looking after the dental health of the area, not to mention a much shorter commute to work!
